CHERYL A. SULLIVAN, Artistic Director/Choreographer
Miss Cheryl has studied dance for over 48 years. Her training began in Somerville, MA with Barbara T. Murphy and continued with Jody Palange/Roffi. Miss Cheryl attended the Dance Teacher's Club of Boston's teacher training course for three years and graduated in 1984. That year she opened her first studio as a certified dance teacher and member of DTCB and Dance Masters of America. Miss Cheryl has continued her dance education through many conventions and seminars as well as Master Classes. Her choreography experience ranges from children's programs with various organizations to the Artistic Director of professional show-quality recitals which are perfomed each year in December and June. Miss Cheryl has always believed that a child should be allowed to express themselves and truly love what they are doing. She takes great pride in having the chance to make dance a special part of every student's life.
JULIE ASSETTA, Teacher/Choreographer
Julie has been studying dance for over 30 years. She graduated from the Dance Teacher's Club of Boston's Teacher Training Course and is a member of the Club. She has been a certified teacher at CASSOD for 10 years. Julie is OCC certified and has worked in the childcare industry for more than eight years. Julie also has extensive experience working with special needs children. She is currently teaching ages 3 to 14 and is CPR certified.
MEGHAN SIMCOX, Teacher/Choreographer
Meghan has been studying dance for 20 years at Cheryl A. Sullivan's School of Dance and has been teaching for the past 10 years. She is a 2005 graduate and current member of the Dance Teachers Club of Boston with the American Society. Meghan has been teaching the Jr. Dance Company at CASSOD for the past 7 years. She graduated from UMass Lowell where she received a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and has also earned her Master's Degree in Education from Lesley College.
LORI FORTI, Teacher/Choreographer
Lori has been studying dance at Cheryl A. Sullivan's School of Dance for 20 years. She graduated from the Dance Teacher's Club of Boston's Teacher Training Course in 2007 and has taught ages 2 through teens for 6 years. Lori is a Senior at UMass Lowell, majoring in Nursing. Lori was involved in various theater productions in high school and adds a "Broadway Flair" to some of her choreography.
HEATHER MYERS, Teacher/Choreographer
Heather has been teaching hip hop classes and has been with CASSOD for seven years. Heather is a graduate of Framingham State College where she was president of their Dance Club for two years. During her time as Dance Club President, she was a recipient of the Student Services Leadership Award, the Harmony Award, and nominated for Student Leader of the Year. Heather currently teaches at several local dance studios and has taught hip hop workshops and classes at local private schools. Her choreography has received Gold scores at several dance competitions. Heather is also a member of the local hip hop group, Pro Nailz.
CHRISTIE SULLIVAN, Head Coach Competitive Dance Team
Christie began her dance training at age 2 and has been teaching at CASSOD for the past 7 years. She is the newest member of the Dance Teacher's Club of Boston and has had extensive dance training through private dance studios, workshops and seminars. Christie is currently a Junior at Endicott College majoring in Elementary Education. She is Captain of the Endicott Dance Team, which took first place in New England this past season. Christie is the Head Coach and Choreographer of the CASSOD Competitive Dance Team.
RACHEL LACASSE, Teacher/Choreographer
Rachel began her dance training at age 2 at Mass Motion Dance in Sturbridge. She attended Simmons College and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in History and Political Science. While at Simmons, she was a member and choreographer for both the Colleges of the Fenway Dance Project as well as the Simmons Dance Company. Rachel joined our teaching staff last season. We welcome her back again this year.
JAMIE ROSSI, Teacher/Choreographer

Jamie has been dancing since age 5 and was trained at the Eleanor Rubino Academy of Performing Arts. She has competed regionally and nationally across the country. Jamie has just returned from dancing professionally aboard Norwegian and Carnival Cruise Lines performing and entertaining for the past 3 years. She has been a member of the Dance Teachers Club of Boston since 2004 and has taught for many years at the Academy and the Dance Complex. We welcome Jamie this year to our faculty.
MARK ALKER, Zumba Instructor
Mark has been dancing since the age of 3. He has studied tap and jazz at Cheryl A. Sullivan's School of Dance and was a teacher for 6 years. Mark is a Dance Teacher's Club of Boston board member and is now a Zumba instructor at CASSOD.
